Carol Monaghan MP has visited a world-leading quantum technologies hub, based at the University of Glasgow.
QuantIC, the UK’s Quantum Technology Hub in Enhanced Imaging, brings together world-leading quantum technologists with global industry leaders in imaging.
These collaborations between industry and academia at QuantIC are advancing technology in imaging and giving the companies involved a competitive edge.
Monaghan, a former physics teacher, was met by QuantIC’s Director, Professor Steve Beaumont and Principal Investigator Professor Miles Padgett.
Commenting, Carol Monaghan MP said:
“I was delighted to visit QuantIC at the start of this month to see firsthand the incredible work being carried out. To have world-leading researchers in the quantum technology sector based here in Glasgow is a testament to the strength of our science base in Scotland, and the opportunities for both our young people and local businesses in the STEM sector is laying the foundations for the next generation of innovators.”
